Nuts, food, animals, animal bedding.

We provide nut-free snacks for all of our programs when a known allergy exists. Please be aware that if your child has a severe contact allergy (not an ingestion allergy) that some of the animals are fed nuts and peanut butter.

Our Zoo Camps are NOT a safe environment for children with severe contact allergies to nuts or other food types, or animals and/or their bedding material.  This affects all of our camps as we go behind the scenes to various zoo keeper only locations. Please inform the Saskatoon Zoo Society of any allergies your child may have.

Registration Procedure: Please have the following on-hand when you register your child(ren).

1) Your Visa or MasterCard and the expiry date.
2) Your child’s hospitalization number.
3) An emergency contact and phone number.
4) Any allergies or medical conditions that you feel we should be aware of to ensure a positive camp experience for your child.
5) Your Saskatoon Zoo Society membership card number if you are a member.

 
Registration for summer camps will not be accepted until 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Members of the Saskatoon Zoo Society can register starting Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. 

CANCELLATION

POLICY:

NO CANCELLATIONS.
We do allow substitutions.  Please note any changes are subject to a $25.00 administration fee.  You can give your spot to a friend and notify the Saskatoon Zoo Society of the changes.  You can also contact the Saskatoon Zoo Society and we may  be able to arrange a subsitution from our waiting list.

If you are purchasing a Zoo Society membership with your Zoo Camp registration, please proceed and select the "member" price on the registration form.  We will contact you later to process your membership separately.  Once you have purchased a membership you will be considered a member for all further on-line transactions.

We do not offer day programs or camps during the Easter break. We will be running interpretation programs in the Zoo during this time.

Let the Saskatoon Zoo Society help you out.
You provide the lunch and snacks and we'll provide the wild adventures
at the zoo.  
Along with crafts and games you will meet our socialized animals such as Georgia the American Porcupine and Pretzel the Royal Python.  Go Behind the scenes with the Zoo Society staff to learn about and feed Ariel the hawk, Spirt the owl, and Farley the fox.  It's the perfect day for the young animal lover.

The Zoo Crew PD Day Camp runs from 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m.

Register early as space is limited in this unique day camp program.

Cost: $50.00 / child. (Zoo Society Members: $45.00 / child)

Please note these programs may be cancelled if there is insufficient enrolment. We do not offer day camp programs for report card periods or other breaks individual schools may offer.  The PD day camps are only offered on division-wide PD breaks for both the Saskatoon Public and Saskatoon Catholic School Divisions.

This exciting three day camp is all about having fun in the winter.  Participants wil help feed the socialized animals, participate in winter activities, and make some cool crafts.  Bring a bag lunch and snacks.  We will provide the lunch and snacks on the Friday.

Bio-Bits Summer Camp 2015 [Back to top]
for children aged 7 - 10 years


Please note: our age minimum is strictly followed due to safety reasons.
Children MUST be 7 by August 31st, 2015 to qualify for our camps.

A four or five day camp (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily) for kids aged 7 to 10 years.

 Spend a week at the zoo. We’ll get to know our animal friends with help from the Saskatoon Zoo Society interpreters and Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo Zookeepers. There will be lots of hands-on experiences, crafts, and games all designed to have fun at the zoo. Camp includes a campfire lunch on Friday. Bag lunch and snacks are required Monday - Thursday.

$200 / child ($180 for members).

 Mon. July 6 - Fri. July 10 (5 day camp)

$235.00 / child ($210 for members).

In the event we can switch to another registrant, the Saskatoon Zoo Society will refund your camp fee less a registration fee of $25.  “Before Care” and “After Care” are not provided at Summer Zoo Camps. Not a member? Bio-Explorers Summer Camp 2015 [Back to top]
For youth aged 11-14 years

Bio-Explorers for ages 11 -14

Monday to Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Thursday 9:00 a.m. - Friday 12:00 p.m. (Sleepover at the zoo ends at noon)

 It’s a wild week with the Zoo Society. We’ll get to know our animal friends with help from the Saskatoon Zoo Society interpreters and Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo zookeepers. In this camp, we’ll explore local conservation areas like Pike Lake, the Saskatoon Natural Grasslands, and Beaver Creek. Hands-on experiences include a canoe excursion on the South Saskatchewan River. Grab your sleeping bag –this exciting camp includes a sleepover at the zoo on Thursday! Bag lunch and snacks are required, Monday-Thursday. Supper is provided on Thursday, and breakfast is provided on Friday.

SUMMER ZOO CAMP SPONSORSHIP

Thanks to a sponsorship from PotashCorp, the Saskatoon Zoo Society is able to sponsor 2 children each week to attend our camps. Please read the following BEFORE applying to ensure you qualify for this funding:

You must NOT be able to send your child to camp due to financial limitations. 

Register by going to www.saskatoonzoosociety.ca/programs/camps.html and clicking on the registration link for camps. (Please select the sponsorship application area and not the general camp area. The program you select must state “Summer Zoo Camp-Sponsorship Application”.)

• Submit a recommendation letter from your child’s teacher, principal or school community co-ordinator.

• Submit a short hand-written letter from your child explaining why they wish to attend zoo camp.

• Complete applications (with letters) must be received by May 1st, 2015 

This is only an application and you will be contacted when and if your child is accepted to zoo camp. You must be able to ensure transportation for your child to and from camp each day
